  • Assemblyman Tip McGuire has helped introduce multiple pieces of important progressive legislation in his first term. He was one of the co-sponsors of the Healthcare Heroes Act, which would provide paid sick leave, hazard pay, and no-cost COVID-19 healthcare coverage for frontline healthcare workers. His first piece of legislation as an Assembly member was to close the Dark Store Loophole. Medicaid expansion has also been a top priority for McGuire. He has proposed legislation providing funding for police body cameras, addressing unemployment disbursement issues, and providing loans for homeowners to prevent eviction. His opponent is Republican candidate Ed Hibsch. McGuire is the most progressive choice in this race.
